Julius Dirksen

Julius Dirksen is a Dutch defender from Amersfoort, born on 2 February 2003. He began at SC Hoevelaken before joining FC Twente in 2013, then developed at PEC Zwolle and Ajax, where he progressed through the under-17 and under-18 teams. Dirksen did not make a senior appearance for Ajax and moved to FC Emmen in January 2022 to pursue first-team football. He made his professional debut in the Eredivisie against AZ Alkmaar on 4 September 2022. At Emmen, he became a regular during the 2023–24 season and accumulated 68 appearances across the first and second tiers. Dirksen joined Go Ahead Eagles on 1 July 2024 and helped the club win the 2024–25 KNVB Cup, scoring in the final shootout against AZ. Primarily a centre-back, he has also operated at left-back, bringing a left-footed option to the defence.
