Robert Jonathan Dean Jr

Robert Jonathan Dean Jr. is an American midfielder from Macon, Georgia, who developed through Stratford Academy and Georgia United. At Stratford, he helped win region and state championships in 2012 and 2013 before beginning college at Wofford in 2015. Dean scored once and supplied five assists in 17 appearances as a freshman, then transferred to the University of Central Florida. From 2016 to 2019, he made more than 50 appearances, captained UCF to a conference championship and helped the Knights reach the NCAA tournament’s Sweet 16. Orlando City selected him 39th overall in the 2020 MLS SuperDraft, but he was released without signing a contract. Dean subsequently joined Birmingham Legion FC, where he made more than 70 appearances from 2020 through 2022. In January 2023, he moved to Chicago Fire, continuing his professional career in MLS.
