Joyskim Aurélien Dawa Tchakonte

Joyskim Aurélien Dawa Tchakonte is a Cameroonian centre-back born in Colombes, France, on 9 April 1996. Standing 1.94 metres, he developed in French youth football before beginning his senior career with Gil Vicente and later moving to FC Mariupol in Ukraine in 2018. Dawa continued his progression at Valmiera in Latvia in 2020, gaining experience in another European league. He then established himself in Romania, where performances for FC Botoșani preceded his move to FCSB in July 2022. At FCSB, Dawa has operated primarily on the right side of central defence, using his height and physical strength in duels and set-piece situations. He helped the club win the 2023/24 Liga I title. Dawa has also stepped forward to challenge attackers and contributed to build-up play with his passing. He has represented Cameroon, making his international debut against Malawi in an Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in October 2018.
