Jonathan Cissé

Jonathan Cissé is an Ivorian defender who plays as a center-back for Universitatea Cluj. Born on 18 May 1997, he developed in the AS Monaco system and spent part of his early professional career with Monaco B. In July 2019, Cissé moved to Israel, joining Hapoel Hadera and remaining there through 2023. He then transferred to Romanian club Oțelul Galați in August 2023, where he scored three goals across two seasons. Cissé joined Universitatea Cluj in July 2025 and continued his career in Romania’s SuperLiga. At 1.92 metres, he offers a strong aerial presence and contributes through clearances, interceptions and physical challenges in central defence. He has also been involved with the Côte d’Ivoire under-23 team, although he has not established a senior international career.
