Joris Chotard
Joris Chotard is a French defensive midfielder born in Orange on 24 September 2001. He began his youth development with RC de Provence and FA Châteaurenard before joining USP Grand Avignon, then moved to the Montpellier HSC academy in 2016. Chotard progressed through Montpellier’s youth teams and established himself in the first team, becoming a regular Ligue 1 midfielder during a six-season association with the club. In 2025, he left Montpellier for Stade Brestois 29, where he continues to play in Ligue 1. His game is built around defensive positioning, tactical discipline and protecting the space in front of the defence, while his deeper role allows him to help regain possession and connect play. Chotard has also represented France at youth level and was part of the French squad that won a silver medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
