Jens Castrop

Jens Castrop is a German midfielder who developed in the Rhineland. He began at Fortuna Düsseldorf before joining 1. FC Köln’s academy in 2015, where he won the 2019 U17 Bundesliga title. In January 2022, Castrop moved to 1. FC Nürnberg on loan to gain senior experience. He later made the move permanent and became a versatile contributor, playing as a central midfielder, right-back and wing-back. His performances at Nürnberg earned him a transfer to Borussia Mönchengladbach in summer 2025, beginning his Bundesliga chapter. Castrop is valued for aggressive ball-winning, progressive carrying and the ability to cover different roles in transition. Internationally, he represented Germany from U16 to U21 level before switching allegiance to South Korea and making his senior debut in 2025.
