Josh Campbell

Josh Campbell is a Scottish midfielder who plays for Hibernian. Born in Edinburgh on 6 May 2000, he joined Hibernian’s academy at eight and signed as a trainee in July 2016. He helped the club’s youth side win the 2017–18 Scottish FA Youth Cup, starting the final against Aberdeen. Campbell began senior football with loan spells at Airdrieonians and Arbroath before joining Edinburgh City in 2020. At Edinburgh City, he scored nine goals in 29 appearances and featured in both legs of the promotion play-off semi-finals. He returned to Easter Road for the 2021–22 campaign, making his Premiership debut against Motherwell and featuring in European qualifying. Primarily a box-to-box midfielder, Campbell has also been used in advanced or defensive roles, demonstrating positional flexibility. He scored a hat-trick in Hibernian’s 6–0 win over Aberdeen in January 2023 and remains part of the club’s midfield.
