Jan-Niklas Beste
Jan-Niklas Beste is a German defender, born on 4 January 1999 in Hamm. He developed at VfL Mark and Hammer SpVg before joining Borussia Dortmund’s academy in 2007, where he helped the under-19 side win the Bundesliga title in 2016/17. Beste made his senior Dortmund debut in the DFB-Pokal in August 2017. In 2018 he moved to Werder Bremen and later spent time on loan at FC Emmen and Jahn Regensburg, where advanced roles brought his crossing and set-piece delivery to the fore. After joining 1. FC Heidenheim in 2022, he helped the club reach the Bundesliga and scored its first goal in the competition during the 2023–24 season. His performances earned a 2024 transfer to Benfica, before Jan-Niklas Beste returned to Germany with SC Freiburg in January 2025.
