Jonas Antonius Auer

Jonas Antonius Auer is an Austrian left-back born in Ruprechtshofen on 5 August 2000. He developed in Austria before moving to the Czech Republic, where he made his senior debut for Viktoria Žižkov on loan during the 2018–19 season. Auer then played for Mladá Boleslav from 2019 to 2021, gaining experience in Czech top-flight football. In July 2021, he returned to Austria to join Rapid Vienna, where he progressed from a rotational option into a regular contributor. At Rapid, Auer has operated as a conventional left-back and, according to the tactical setup, as a wing-back or wider midfielder. His game combines left-sided delivery and overlapping runs with pressing, defensive positioning and the ability to move inside during build-up. He has also represented Austria at under-21 level and remains part of Rapid Vienna’s defensive group.
