Iván Martín Núñez

Iván Martín is an attacking midfielder born in Bilbao who joined Villarreal from EF Torre Pacheco in 2012. He progressed through Villarreal’s youth structure and reserves, making his senior debut for Villarreal C in 2017 before appearing for the first team in a 2019 Copa del Rey tie against Espanyol. During this period, Martín represented Spain at under-19 level. He moved to Mirandés for 2020–21, becoming a regular in the Segunda División and recording four goals and six assists. Alavés followed in 2021–22, before he joined Girona in January 2022. At Girona, he helped secure promotion and developed into a versatile midfielder who contributes through passing, combinations and positional discipline. He scored the stoppage-time winner in Girona’s 4–3 victory over Atlético Madrid in January 2024 and helped the club finish third in La Liga that season.
