Ivan Šunjić

Ivan Šunjić is a Croatian defensive midfielder born in Zenica, Bosnia and Herzegovina, on 9 October 1996. He developed in Croatia with NK Špansko and NK Zagreb before joining the Dinamo Zagreb academy in 2012. Šunjić made his senior debut for Dinamo in 2014, then moved to NK Lokomotiva Zagreb in 2016 to gain regular first-team football. He became Lokomotiva’s captain during the 2017–18 season, prompting Dinamo to bring him back in 2018. During his return, he helped Dinamo win the Croatian league and made a notable contribution in European competition. In 2019, Šunjić moved to Birmingham City, where his defensive screening and ball-winning shaped his midfield role during a five-year spell. He later spent time with Hertha BSC and now plays for Pafos, while also representing Bosnia and Herzegovina after previously appearing for Croatia at youth and senior level.
