Ivan Smolčić

Ivan Smolčić is a Croatian defender born in Gospić on 17 August 2000. He began with Gospić 91 before joining HNK Rijeka’s academy in February 2014. Smolčić made his senior debut for Rijeka in April 2019, appearing in a 7–0 victory over Inter Zaprešić. He then developed through loan spells with HNK Orijent 1919 and Hrvatski Dragovoljac, gaining experience in Croatian senior football. Returning to Rijeka in summer 2022, he established himself as a regular and became known primarily as a right-back who can also operate centrally. In February 2025, Smolčić moved to Como, continuing his career in Italy. He has represented Croatia at under-21 level and made his senior debut in a 2025 World Cup qualifier against the Faroe Islands.
