Ido Shahar

Ido Shahar is an Israeli midfielder who developed at Maccabi Tel Aviv after beginning with MS Kiryat Gat. Born on 20 August 2001, Shahar joined the Maccabi academy at 11 and spent eight years there before moving into senior football. He made his Maccabi Tel Aviv debut in August 2020, then gained experience on loan with Beitar Tel Aviv Bat Yam, Hapoel Haifa and Maccabi Petah Tikva. At Beitar, he scored six goals in 32 appearances, while his spell at Maccabi Petah Tikva brought four goals in 15 matches. Shahar later moved abroad to Apollon Limassol for the 2022–23 season and won the Cypriot Super Cup. Returning to Maccabi, he developed from a box-to-box midfielder into a more advanced playmaker who makes late runs into the penalty area. He has also been involved with Israel U23 and the senior national setup.
