Ioannis Kousoulos

Ioannis Kousoulos is a Cypriot defender born in Limassol on 14 June 1996. He developed at Nea Salamis Famagusta and established himself in Cyprus’s top flight before moving to Omonia Nicosia in July 2018. At Omonia, Kousoulos became a regular presence in a side that won the 2020–21 Cypriot league title. Although registered as a defender, he has also operated in a deeper midfield role, contributing through positional discipline, recoveries and simple distribution. He missed the 2021–22 season after suffering a knee cartilage injury during a Champions League qualifier against Dinamo Zagreb, then returned in September 2022. Kousoulos subsequently helped Omonia win the Cyprus Cup in 2022 and 2023 while featuring in European competition. He also represents Cyprus internationally, adding senior experience to his defensive work for club and country.
