Ismail Joshua Jakobs

Ismail Joshua Jakobs is a Senegalese football defender born in Stuttgart on 17 August 1999. He began playing with BC Bliesheim before joining the 1. FC Köln academy in 2012, developing as a left-sided player who could operate at full-back or winger. Jakobs progressed to Köln’s U19s and U21s, making 28 appearances for the reserve side before reaching the senior squad. He made his Bundesliga debut for Köln during the 2019–20 season and remained with the club until 2021. That year, he helped Germany Under-21 win the UEFA European Under-21 Championship before moving to Monaco. Jakobs later chose to represent Senegal, joining their senior international setup in 2022 and featuring at the 2022 World Cup. After his Monaco spell, he moved to Galatasaray in 2024, where he continues to provide defensive coverage and width from the left.
