Issa Laye Lucas Jean Diop

Issa Laye Lucas Jean Diop is a right-footed centre-back, born in Toulouse, France, on 9 January 1997. He developed at Balma SC before joining Toulouse’s academy in 2006 and progressing into the senior side. Diop made his professional debut against Nice in November 2015 and later became captain of his boyhood club. In June 2018, he moved to West Ham United, where he made 121 appearances and gained Premier League and European experience. After his opportunities decreased during the 2021–22 season, Diop transferred to Fulham in August 2022. At 1.94 metres, Diop offers aerial reach and a strong presence in central defensive areas, while his development has included a greater emphasis on positioning and passing. Current squad references list him with Ipswich and Morocco, following youth involvement with France and his recorded spells at Toulouse, West Ham and Fulham.
