Ivaylo Lyudmilov Chochev
Ivaylo Lyudmilov Chochev is a Bulgarian midfielder born in Pleven on 18 February 1993. He developed at Spartak Pleven and Chavdar Etropole before joining CSKA Sofia in January 2013. A regular during the 2013–14 season, Chochev moved to Palermo in July 2014 and entered Serie A football. He scored his first Italian league goal against Udinese in April 2015 and remained with Palermo through its relegation to Serie B. A serious knee injury suffered on international duty for Bulgaria in March 2019 disrupted his progress, but he returned to Bulgaria with CSKA 1948 in 2020. In 2022–23, Chochev scored 21 league goals and finished as the division’s top scorer. Ludogorets signed him in February 2024, adding a tall, attacking midfielder who contributes late runs into the penalty area and has represented Bulgaria internationally.
