Ívar Örn Árnason

Ívar Örn Árnason is an Icelandic defender born on 12 April 1996. He developed in the youth system of KA Akureyri before moving to the United States for college football. At Northern Michigan University, Árnason gained Division II experience and earned All-Conference recognition. He transferred to the University of Vermont in 2017, where he became a co-captain by his senior season and contributed at set pieces. After returning to Iceland in 2019, Árnason rejoined KA Akureyri and established himself in the club’s defence. He helped KA reach the Besta deild finals in 2022 and 2023 while becoming a regular in the starting lineup. In February 2026, Ívar Örn Árnason moved to Breidablik, bringing top-flight experience to the Kópavogur club’s defensive options.
