Hélder Filipe Oliveira Lopes

Hélder Lopes, a Portuguese defender, was born in Vila Nova de Gaia on January 4, 1989. He developed at SC Coimbrões, Padroense FC and CD Candal before briefly joining Parma in 2008, although he made no senior appearance there and returned to Portugal with SC Mirandela. At CD Tondela, from 2011 to 2012, Lopes helped the club win promotion to the Segunda Liga, then continued his rise through SC Beira-Mar and FC Paços de Ferreira in the Primeira Liga. He moved to UD Las Palmas in 2016, gaining experience in La Liga, before joining AEK Athens in 2017. Lopes was part of AEK’s 2018 league title-winning side, ending the club’s long wait for the championship. He later continued his career with Hapoel Be’er Sheva, helping win the 2021–22 State Cup and scoring in the decisive penalty shootout. Hélder Lopes is currently listed with Académica, bringing a career across Portugal, Spain, Greece and Israel.
