Hallgrímur Mar Steingrímsson

Hallgrímur Mar Steingrímsson is an Icelandic forward who has built his senior career in northern Iceland. He developed at Völsungur Húsavík before moving to KA Akureyri in February 2011, beginning a long association with the club. During his first spell, he became a reliable attacking player and helped KA progress from the lower divisions. Steingrímsson joined Vikingur Reykjavik in 2015, gaining top-flight experience before returning to KA in February 2016. He helped KA win promotion from 1. deild that season and then continued in the club’s top-flight campaigns. Initially used primarily as a left winger, he has also operated centrally as an attacking midfielder or second striker. In the 2023/24 season, he helped KA Akureyri win the Icelandic Cup, while he scored 13 goals in 2025.
