Hugo Vegard Vetlesen

Hugo Vegard Vetlesen is a Norwegian midfielder born in Oslo on 29 February 2000. He developed with Haslum IL and Stabæk, reaching the first team as a teenager and becoming the first player born in the 21st century to appear in Norway’s top flight in 2017. In October 2020, Vetlesen joined Bodø/Glimt, adding progressive running, pressing and attacking movement to his central-midfield game. His 2022 campaign brought 16 league goals and 12 assists, and he was named Eliteserien Player of the Year. Vetlesen also scored Bodø/Glimt’s winner in a 2–1 Conference League victory over Roma in April 2022. He moved to Club Brugge in July 2023 and helped the Belgian club win the 2023–24 Jupiler Pro League title. Vetlesen has represented Norway through the youth ranks, played at the 2019 FIFA U-20 World Cup, and made his senior debut in November 2022.
