Hugo Vargas-Ríos

Hugo Vargas-Ríos is a French defender born in Chambray-lès-Tours on 2 November 1994. He developed through the lower levels of French football before establishing himself with St-Pryvé St-Hilaire. His move to Stade Briochin in 2020 brought a step up to the Championnat National, where he operated from the left side and became known for his work rate. In 2021, Vargas-Ríos joined Le Mans, spending three seasons with the National club. At Le Mans, he was used both as a left-back and in a more defensive midfield role, reflecting his positional versatility. He moved to Dijon in July 2024 and has since featured in central midfield while retaining the ability to move wide and support attacks. Hugo Vargas-Ríos remains part of Dijon’s squad, combining defensive experience with a growing contribution in advanced areas.
