Heorhii Sudakov
Heorhii Sudakov is a Ukrainian attacking midfielder born in Bryanka on 1 September 2002. He began at Sokil Bryanka before moving to the Metalist academy in Kharkiv in 2014 and joining Shakhtar Donetsk’s youth system in 2017. Sudakov made his Shakhtar first-team debut on 21 October 2020, appearing in the Champions League victory over Real Madrid. He established himself during the 2022/23 season, recording five goals and 10 assists in 39 matches as Shakhtar won the Ukrainian league title; he was also named the competition’s Best Young Player and the club’s Player of the Year. In November 2023, Sudakov helped Shakhtar defeat Barcelona 1–0 in the Champions League. He joined Benfica in August 2025 after his rise as a central Shakhtar player. Sudakov made his senior Ukraine debut in May 2021 and represented the national team at Euro 2024.
