Hany Abubakr Mukhtar

Hany Abubakr Mukhtar is a German attacking midfielder born in Berlin on 21 March 1995. He developed at Hertha BSC and made his professional debut for the club in the 2. Bundesliga in 2012. Mukhtar later moved through Red Bull Salzburg and Brøndby, where he became a more influential creator in Denmark’s high-pressing environment. At Brøndby, he was named Superliga Player of the Season in 2018, marking a breakthrough in his European career. In 2020, Mukhtar joined Nashville SC as the club’s first Designated Player and established himself as a central attacking figure in Major League Soccer. His role evolved from a traditional number 10 toward more direct runs, transition play and finishing around the penalty area. He also represented Germany at youth level, scoring the winning goal in the 2014 UEFA European Under-19 Championship final.
