Jacob Harry Maguire

Jacob Harry Maguire is an English centre-back for Manchester United and the England national team. Born in Sheffield, he developed at Sheffield United and made his senior debut for the club in 2011. He established himself there before moving to Hull City in 2014, later helping the club win promotion through the play-offs after a loan spell at Wigan Athletic. In 2017, Maguire joined Leicester City, where he played every minute of the 2017–18 Premier League season and was named the club’s Player of the Season. Manchester United signed him in August 2019 for a world-record fee for a defender, and he became captain within six months. Maguire helped England reach the 2018 World Cup semi-finals and Euro 2020 final, while earning selection for the latter tournament’s team. At United, he has contributed through aerial defending, set-piece threat and progressive passing, and won the FA Cup and EFL Cup.
