Hiroki Ito

Hiroki Ito is a Japanese centre-back born in Shizuoka on 12 May 1999. He developed in the Júbilo Iwata academy and entered the club’s senior squad in 2017, later spending time with Nagoya Grampus. In June 2021, Ito moved to VfB Stuttgart on loan, where his technical ability helped him establish himself in Germany. Originally a defensive midfielder, he adapted to a left-sided defensive role and can now operate as a centre-back or left-back. Ito contributes to build-up play with composed passing, while his 1.88-metre frame supports his work in aerial contests. His progress at Stuttgart led to a move to Bayern München in 2024, where he joined the club’s defensive options. Ito also represents Japan, adding international experience to a career that has taken him from Shizuoka to the Bundesliga.
