Héctor Miguel Herrera López

Héctor Miguel Herrera López is a Mexican midfielder from Tijuana. He developed at Pachuca and gained senior experience on loan with Cuautla and Tampico Madero before making his Liga MX debut for Pachuca in 2011. Herrera moved to FC Porto in 2013, establishing himself as a dynamic box-to-box presence and helping the club win the 2017–18 Primeira Liga title. He then joined Atlético Madrid in 2019 and was part of the squad that won La Liga in 2020–21. At international level, Herrera represented Mexico at the 2012 Olympics, winning gold at London after Mexico defeated Brazil in the final. He has also been a regular senior international, contributing to Mexico’s midfield across major tournaments. After Atlético, Herrera continued his career with Houston Dynamo, where he helped win the 2023 U.S. Open Cup. Now back with Houston Dynamo, Herrera brings experience, ball progression and passing range to a deeper midfield role.
