Hovhannes Hambardzumyan

Hovhannes Hambardzumyan is an Armenian defender whose career has taken him from Yerevan to clubs across the Balkans and Cyprus. Born on October 4, 1990, in Yerevan, he developed at Banants Yerevan and made his professional debut in 2008. He became a regular by 2009 before moving abroad to Vardar Skopje in 2014. With Vardar, Hambardzumyan won three consecutive Macedonian First League titles from 2014/15 to 2016/17 and was named Macedonia’s Player of the Year in 2014/15. In 2018, he joined Enosis Neon Paralimni in Cyprus, then moved to Anorthosis in 2020, helping win the Cyprus Cup in 2020/21. Hambardzumyan made his Armenia debut in 2010 and later appeared in eight matches during Euro 2021 qualifying. He returned to Armenia with FC Noah in August 2023, continuing as a right-sided defender who can also operate as a wing-back or right midfielder.
