Hugo Jean-Marc Cuypers

Hugo Jean-Marc Cuypers is a Belgian centre-forward born in Liège on 7 February 1997. He developed through FC De Zwaluw Vechmaal, Excelsior Veldwezelt and CS Visé before joining Standard Liège in 2014. With Standard’s under-19 side, Cuypers scored 31 goals and supplied 13 assists in his first season, then made one senior appearance in April 2016. He moved to Greece with Ergotelis in 2017 and scored 22 goals in 28 matches during the 2017–18 campaign. A 2019 move to Olympiakos brought limited playing time, while a loan at AC Ajaccio preceded his return to Belgium in 2021. Cuypers scored 13 goals for KV Mechelen before joining Gent, where he won the 2022–23 Belgian Pro League Golden Boot with 20 league goals. Chicago Fire signed him in February 2024, and he led the club with 10 goals in 2024 before scoring 19 in 2025.
