Heorhii Bushchan

Heorhii Bushchan is a Ukrainian goalkeeper born in Odesa on 31 May 1994. He began at Chornomorets Odesa’s football school before moving to the Dynamo Kyiv academy at 14. Bushchan joined Dynamo’s first-team setup in 2011–12 and made his senior league debut on 20 August 2017 in a 4–1 win over Stal Kamianske. He became Dynamo’s established first-choice goalkeeper during the 2019–20 season. In October 2020, Bushchan made his Ukraine debut against France, then kept a clean sheet in a 1–0 victory over Spain three days later. At UEFA Euro 2020, he helped Ukraine reach the quarter-finals, making notable saves against the Netherlands and being voted his team’s best player in the 4–0 defeat by England. Standing 1.96 metres tall, he combines reach for one-on-ones and aerial balls with distribution from the back, and is listed with Polessya.
