Luís Gustavo Ledes Evangelista dos Santos

Gus Ledes, the commonly used name of Luís Gustavo Ledes Evangelista dos Santos, is a Portuguese defensive midfielder born in Braga. He joined FC Barcelona’s youth system in 2006, progressing from the under-16s to Barcelona B, which he reached in 2011. After making his Barcelona B debut, he scored his first professional goal against Xerez in a 6–0 victory in 2012. When Barcelona declined to renew his contract in 2013, Ledes returned to Portugal with Rio Ave, where he struggled for regular top-flight minutes. He moved to Celta Vigo B in 2016, then began a sustained spell in Spain’s Segunda División with Reus, Numancia and Castellón between 2017 and 2021. In 2021, Gus Ledes joined AEK Larnaca in Cyprus, the club he remains registered with. His career traces a path from Barcelona’s academy through Iberian second-tier football to Cypriot football.
