Gonçalo Bernardo Inácio

Gonçalo Inácio is a Portuguese centre-back born in Almada on 25 August 2001. He joined Sporting CP’s academy in 2012 and progressed through the club’s youth ranks at Alcochete. He made his professional debut on 6 July 2020 against Moreirense. During 2020–21, he became a regular and helped Sporting win the Primeira Liga, ending a 19-year wait. As a left-sided defender, he operated in a back three and contributed to Sporting’s build-up passing. Inácio made his Portugal senior debut in March 2023 and represented the country at Euro 2024. He has remained with Sporting CP, where he has also been part of teams winning league titles in 2024 and 2025. Inácio is comfortable in a back three or back four, using composed distribution to help Sporting build from defence.
