Geovanni Barba Jiménez

Geovanni Barba, also known by his full name Geovanni Barba Jiménez, is a Spanish defender born on 17 May 2001 in Puerto de Santa María. He developed in Andalusian football and came through the Real Betis academy. In May 2021, Barba received a senior first-team call-up for a La Liga fixture but did not make his debut. He subsequently gained experience in Spain’s lower divisions with Atlético Sanluqueño, Getafe B and Recreativo Granada. On 1 July 2025, he moved abroad to join St Joseph’s FC in Gibraltar. During the 2025/26 season, Barba recorded more than 1,800 competitive minutes and made four appearances in the UEFA Conference League qualifying rounds. His career reflects a progression from academy football and Spanish developmental competition to regular senior involvement and European qualifying experience.
