Gabriel Fortes Chaves

Gabriel Pec, whose full name is Gabriel Fortes Chaves, is a Brazilian right winger born in Petrópolis on 11 February 2001. He developed through futsal in his hometown before joining Vasco da Gama’s academy at eight, progressing through the club’s youth system. Pec reached Vasco’s senior side and became an important attacking outlet as the team returned to Brazil’s top flight. In 2023, he recorded eight league goals and four assists for Vasco, while scoring 14 times across all competitions. His form earned a move to the LA Galaxy in January 2024, where he made an immediate impact with 16 regular-season goals. Gabriel Pec was named MLS Newcomer of the Year and selected for the 2024 MLS All-Star team. He has also been involved with Brazil’s under-23 side and is listed with Cruzeiro.
