Gabriel dos Santos Magalhães

Gabriel Magalhães is a Brazilian centre-back who developed at Avaí after briefly returning home during an early trial away from São Paulo. He earned his first professional contract by 16 and helped Avaí secure promotion to Brazil’s Série A in 2017. Lille signed Gabriel that year, and he gained experience on loan at Estac Troyes and Dinamo Zagreb before returning to France. At Lille, Gabriel established himself under Christophe Galtier, partnering José Fonte and contributing progressive passing from the back. Arsenal signed the left-footed defender in September 2020, and he scored on his Premier League debut in a 3–0 victory over Fulham. Since then, Gabriel has become a regular at the heart of Arsenal’s defence, forming a prominent partnership with William Saliba and offering strength in duels and aerial situations. He is also part of the Brazil setup.
