Gábor Sándor Szalai
Gábor Sándor Szalai is a Hungarian defender, born in Kecskemét on 9 June 2000. Standing 1.91 metres, Szalai developed at Kecskeméti TE after joining its academy in 2010. He also spent the 2017–18 season at Brooke House Football Academy in England before making his Kecskemét senior debut in 2019. After helping the club rise through Hungary’s divisions, he established himself in the top flight during the 2022–23 campaign. In January 2024, he moved to Lausanne, gaining experience in the Swiss Super League. Ferencvárosi TC then brought Szalai back to Hungary in August 2024, and he won the 2024–25 league title in his debut season. He has also received senior call-ups to Hungary’s national team, continuing his progression from hometown academy prospect to international defender.
