Gerónimo Rulli

Gerónimo Rulli is an Argentine goalkeeper born in La Plata on 20 May 1992. He developed at Estudiantes, joining the club’s youth system in 2009 and progressing toward senior football. In April 2013, injuries and departures opened the door to his first-team breakthrough, and Rulli quickly became Estudiantes’ primary choice for the 2013–14 campaign. He set a club record by going 588 minutes without conceding and received the Ubaldo Fillol Award for the 2014 Final tournament. His subsequent career took him beyond Argentina through Real Sociedad, Manchester City, Montpellier, Villarreal, Ajax and Marseille, reflecting experience in Spanish, English, French and Dutch football. Rulli has also been involved with Argentina’s senior and under-23 sides. Across his career, he has been noted for shot-stopping and modern distribution, while his movement through several top-level leagues has added breadth to his goalkeeping profile.
