Guido Rodríguez

Guido Rodríguez is an Argentine midfielder born in Caseros on 12 April 1994. He developed at River Plate and made his first-team debut in 2014, later spending a brief loan spell with Defensa y Justicia. In 2016, Rodríguez moved to Club Tijuana, where regular football helped establish him as a deep-lying defensive midfielder. He then joined Club América, won the 2018 Apertura, and received Liga MX’s Balón de Oro in 2019. Rodríguez moved to Real Betis in January 2020 and became an important part of the team that won the 2022 Copa del Rey. For Argentina, he contributed to squads that won the 2021 Copa América, 2022 World Cup, and 2024 Copa América. After his spell at West Ham, Rodríguez is listed with Valencia, continuing a career built on positioning, ball recovery, short passing, and protection in front of the defence.
