Giovanni Alejandro Reyna

Giovanni Alejandro Reyna is an American attacking midfielder born in Durham, England, and is listed with Strasbourg. He developed in the New York City FC Academy, where he helped the under-17 side win the Generation Adidas Cup and was named tournament MVP. In July 2019, Reyna joined Borussia Dortmund and progressed into senior football in Germany. He became the youngest American to appear in the Bundesliga and the youngest goalscorer in German Cup history. At Dortmund, Reyna operated as an attacking midfielder or winger, using close control and passing to create opportunities between the lines. A 2024 loan spell at Nottingham Forest formed part of a less settled period in his development. Reyna has also represented the United States internationally, adding an international dimension to his club career.
