Gustav Julius Mortensen

Gustav Julius Mortensen is a Danish defender born on 19 March 2004. He developed at Lyngby BK, where he became the club’s youngest debutant when he played against OB in the Superliga on 20 May 2021. After beginning his senior career in Denmark, Mortensen joined Vendsyssel FF on loan for the 2024–25 season, seeking regular first-team football. The left-sided defender made 29 appearances for Vendsyssel and scored his first professional goal during that spell. He returned to Lyngby for the first half of 2025–26 before moving to Standard Liège in January 2026. Mortensen has represented Denmark at youth level, progressing through the age groups and featuring for the U20 and U21 teams. At Standard Liège, he operates primarily as a left-back or left wing-back while continuing his development in Belgian football.
