Giorgi Mamardashvili

Giorgi Mamardashvili is a Georgian goalkeeper born in Tbilisi on 29 September 2000. He developed in Georgia, spending time with Dinamo Tbilisi before gaining senior experience at Lokomotivi Tbilisi. His performances in the 2020–21 UEFA Europa League qualifying rounds, including the tie against Granada, helped bring him to the attention of clubs abroad. Valencia signed him on loan in 2021, and he established himself in the first team after an opportunity during pre-season. Valencia later made the transfer permanent, and Mamardashvili became a regular starter in La Liga. For Georgia, he played at UEFA Euro 2024, making several important saves during the country’s first appearance at a major tournament and helping the team reach the knockout stage. Liverpool signed Mamardashvili in 2024, with the goalkeeper remaining at Valencia for the 2024–25 season before joining the English club in 2025.
