Gonzalo Luján Melli

Gonzalo Luján Melli is an Argentine defender born in Buenos Aires on April 27, 2001. He developed in San Lorenzo’s academy and made his professional debut for the club on May 26, 2021, in a Copa Sudamericana match against Huachipato. Luján went on to make 97 appearances for San Lorenzo before moving to Inter Miami. His international progress came with Argentina U23, whom he represented at the 2024 CONMEBOL Pre-Olympic Tournament and the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. At club level, Gonzalo Luján joined Inter Miami in January 2025, reuniting with Javier Mascherano. Used at right-back and centre-back, he offers positional flexibility while contributing to defensive organization and build-up play. Luján was part of Inter Miami’s 2025 MLS Cup-winning squad, adding a major achievement to a career developed from Argentine academy football to the MLS.
