Giannis Kotsiras

Giannis Kotsiras is a Greek defender, born on 16 December 1992 in Megalopoli. He began his senior career with Doxa Megalopolis and AO Falesias before joining Panarkadikos in 2014, where he initially played as a right winger. In 2016, Kotsiras moved to Asteras Tripolis and developed into a right-back, establishing himself in the Super League and later captaining the side. His performances earned him a first Greece call-up, and he made his international debut in 2019. In June 2021, he joined Panathinaikos, gaining European experience in the club’s Europa League campaigns and Champions League qualifying matches. Kotsiras helped Panathinaikos win the Greek Cup in 2021–22 and 2023–24, while his evolution from winger to defender has supported his contribution to build-up play and occasional movement into central areas.
