Gregor Kobel

Gregor Kobel is a Swiss goalkeeper born in Zürich on December 6, 1997. He developed at Grasshopper Club Zürich before moving to TSG Hoffenheim as a teenager. At Hoffenheim, he made his senior debut in a DFB-Pokal match in 2017, then joined FC Augsburg on loan in 2019 and started 16 consecutive Bundesliga matches. Kobel moved to VfB Stuttgart later in 2019, helping the club win promotion from Bundesliga 2 before establishing himself in the top flight. His performances earned a transfer to Borussia Dortmund in 2021, where he became the club’s first-choice goalkeeper. With Dortmund, Gregor Kobel has combined close-range saves with commanding work in the area and proactive distribution behind a high defensive line. He helped the side reach the 2023–24 Champions League final and has also represented Switzerland at international level.
