Guram Kashia

Guram Kashia is a Georgian centre-back born in Tbilisi on 4 July 1987. He developed at Dinamo Tbilisi, became the club’s captain, and moved to the Netherlands in 2010 to join Vitesse. During eight seasons in Arnhem, Kashia established himself as a defensive leader and helped Vitesse win the 2016–17 KNVB Cup, the club’s first major trophy. In June 2018, he transferred to the San Jose Earthquakes, where he played alongside fellow Georgian Valeri Qazaishvili. After a later spell with Locomotive Tbilisi, Kashia returned to Europe by joining Slovan Bratislava in 2021. He contributed to Slovan’s run of three consecutive Slovak top-flight titles from 2021 to 2024. At international level, Kashia debuted for Georgia in 2009, became captain in 2018, and led the team at Euro 2024, where Georgia reached the knockout stage.
