Gabriel Haider

Gabriel Haider is an Austrian defender born in Grieskirchen on 18 June 2002. He began at Union St Agatha in 2009, before joining SV Ried's academy in 2016. There, he progressed through the U16 and U18 sides before reaching the amateur team. In August 2020, Haider moved to Germany to continue his development with 1899 Hoffenheim, representing its U19 and reserve teams. He was also called up to the Austria U21 national team during that spell. Haider returned to Austria in July 2023, joining Sturm Graz and initially playing for Sturm Graz II in the 2. Liga. At 1.87 metres, he brings a strong physical presence to the centre-back position, where his duties include challenging for aerial balls and helping protect the defence. In 2025/26, he also made his Sturm Graz Bundesliga debut, marking another step toward first-team football.
