Günay Güvenç

Günay Güvenç is a Turkish goalkeeper born in Neu-Ulm, Germany, on 25 June 1991. He developed at SSV Ulm 1846 before joining Stuttgarter Kickers in 2009, where he moved toward senior football. After progressing in Germany, Güvenç moved to Beşiktaş in 2013 and was part of the squad that won the 2015–16 Süper Lig. From 2019 to 2023, he played for Gaziantep FK, becoming a regular presence and at times wearing the captain’s armband. In 2023, he joined Galatasaray, adding experienced goalkeeping depth while also featuring when selected. With Galatasaray, he collected the 2023 Turkish Super Cup and the 2023–24 and 2024–25 Süper Lig titles, as well as the 2024–25 Turkish Cup. Known for reflex saves, penalty stopping, proactive runs from his line and punching crosses in crowded areas, Günay combines traditional goalkeeping with a sweeper-keeper approach.
