Gaëtan Courtet
Gaëtan Courtet steadies his centre-forward role, attacking space, running beyond the line and threatening the channel with every ball. Gaëtan Courtet’s career spans Stade de Reims, AJ Auxerre, FC Lorient, AC Ajaccio and Valenciennes. He faced a cancer diagnosis in 2011. He helped Reims earn promotion to Ligue 1 in 2012, then produced 21 goals and 16 assists for Auxerre over two seasons before moving on to Lorient and Ajaccio to lead the line in Ligue 2. At Ajaccio he consistently lifted match ratings and contributed to their promotion push, while Lorient provided a homecoming and continued forward thrust. Now with Valenciennes, Courtet links play through high-tempo exchanges, presses high and supports the centre-forward function. Gaëtan Courtet finishes moves and gets shots off quickly, often attacking the back post to convert crosses.
