Karl Gustav Vilhelm Berggren

Karl Gustav Vilhelm Berggren is a Swedish defensive midfielder who developed through Näsets SK, IF Väster, GAIS and BK Häcken. He signed his first professional contract with Häcken in January 2015, debuting competitively in the Svenska Cupen the following month and in the Allsvenskan in May 2016. A 2017 loan to Varbergs BoIS brought 15 appearances in Sweden’s second tier before he returned to Häcken and became an established first-team player. Berggren later moved to Raków Częstochowa in July 2022 on a three-year deal. He helped Raków win its first Ekstraklasa title in 2023 and was named the club’s 2024 Team MVP, while also playing in European qualifying and the Europa League. In July 2025, Berggren joined the New York Red Bulls and made his MLS debut that August. He has one senior Sweden cap and also represented the country at under-17, under-18 and under-19 level.
