Francesco Montali

Francesco Montali is an American goalkeeper born in Miami on September 6, 2000. He developed in South Florida with the Davie Sharks, winning the 2016 US Youth Soccer Region III Championship and Golden Glove before joining Orlando City’s academy and later the New York Red Bulls academy. Montali began college at Florida International University in 2019, then transferred to Boston University, where he made 47 starts, recorded 19 shutouts and posted a 0.99 goals-against average from 2021 to 2023. In 2022, he earned Patriot League Goalkeeper of the Year honors after registering a .839 save percentage. The Philadelphia Union selected him 82nd overall in the 2024 MLS SuperDraft, while he also played for Vermont Green FC. Minnesota United FC 2 signed Montali in July 2024 before he joined the San Jose Earthquakes organization. His affiliations include San Jose Earthquakes II, also known as The Town, and New York RB III.
